Growing School Skills
Children learn best through play! In this series - Growing School Skills, readers will follow along with Della as she learns from play and describes her development from infancy to big kid. Each book was designed to be a tool with interactive opportunities for children to engage in the topic. Teachers and parents will be able to expand their abilities to plan and teach meaningful activities for young children through play. Each book also includes a reference section with a variety of ideas for developmentally appropriate learning activities and a framework to deepen the understanding of how connection and conversation can shape the way we teach children a variety of skills.
Literacy includes questions, letters, book knowledge, environmental print, and vocabulary introduced throughout the story to encourage language and literacy skills.
STEM includes questions and vocabulary to help children ponder about the world around them and help inspire children to observe, experiment, develop conclusions, and enjoy the process of learning more skills in STEM.
Physical includes challenges throughout the book to get children moving and strengthening their bodies. It also has questions and ideas for health, safety, and dental health.
The fourth book in the Growing School Skills series focuses on Social-emotional development. Readers will follow along with Della's development from infancy to big kid as she learns to understand and regulate her emotions, work cooperatively with children, and observe the diverse world around her.
